Mike Extreme v. “Sky High” Terrance Star (Wrestling Titans)
Pre Match Notes:
I can’t say Mike Extreme is one of my favorite wrestlers to watch, but I have heard a lot of great things about “Sky High” Terrance Star and this was my first opportunity to see him live. Much like American Thunder, he’s on an evaluation tour to see if he’s ready for a call up.
Match Notes:
The 6’0’’ 209 pound Star was outsized, but used his speed to keep Extreme off balance, who just recently put Kayden Paulton in the hospital…Yeah..he’s a jerk. Extreme didn’t show the best of technique but he was eventually able to just use brute force to over power Star, who simply looked top level with his technique and his athleticism is up there with a JCON or Avispa Ultima.
Eventually, Extreme was able to put Star down with a vicious Powerbomb in the center of the ring and grab the victory over the only twenty year old Terrance Star who is definitely one I will be watching closely in the upcoming
weeks.
Star Evaluation:
Could very easily earn himself a spot on the Jolt roster, is a complete wrestler with a ton of potential and natural ability.
Winner: Mike Extreme via Powerbomb (8:15)
Hija de un Gran Avispa v. The Georgia Peach
Pre Match Notes:
From the clips I’ve seen of Hija, I have been quite impressed. The Georgia Peach..she’s known around Georgia as being a young up and comer who has a lot to improve on but has some potential. She’s not someone who is currently on my radar as potential signees to the Jolt women’s division, but her performance could change my mind.
Match Notes:
Hija came out very quickly, showing the speed known throughout the Clan Avispa and gave Peach fits in the early going until an eye rake slowed her down. Peach followed up and was able to look decent, but a bit mechanical while working over Hija. She failed to pick out a body part, which could have possibly slowed her opponent down.
Peach ran right into a Tilt-A-Whirl Slam..followed by a Roundhouse to her face. Hija wasted no time in placing Peach on the top turnbuckle and took her down with her Twisting Serenity. She followed it up with the Flying Serenity, Springboard Hurricanrana hit beautifully into a pinning predicament which gave her the impressive victory over the just not ready Georgia Peach.
Winner: Hija de un Gran Avispa via Flying Serenity (5:48)
West Texas Terrorists v. Sweet, Sweet Lovin’
Pre Match Notes:
Eli & Ezra Conway should be major threats in the upcoming months in the tag team division as their size alone will allow them an advantage over their opponents. Lennox Love and Sam Sweet..well they have some work to do.
Match Notes:
Eli and Ezra Conway..the West Texas Terrorists controlled most of the match, seemingly toying with Love and Sweet. A few short cuts taken by Love and Sweet allowed for the tide to change. They couldn’t keep the advantage long at the WTT were just too much for their opponents. A double Front Uranage Suplex on Sam Sweet allowed Eli to cover Sweet for the victory.
Winners: West Texas Terrorists (Eli & Ezra Conway) via Double Front Uranage Suplex (8:22)
Altercation?
Notes:
I honestly don’t know what to make of this, but after the intermission, Sanchez Cano was set to take on American Thunder from Jolts, Warriors of Grappling developmental territory, but backstage hand Derrick Newhouse came to the ring and announced that Sanchez was attacked by his brother Cordova. Evidently the two had to be restrained and removed from the building..and Adam Lazarus had been asked to replace Sanchez in the upcoming match.
Evaluation:
I guess the brothers are still having harsh feelings towards one another, especially after Avispa Ultima was able to pin Sanchez on Warriors. Cordova has made it known how important the LoC Flyweight Championship meant to him. Hopefully, we’ll hear more on this situation on Intense.
American Thunder (Warriors of Grappling) v. Adam Lazarus
Pre Match Notes:
American Thunder definitely has the potential to make a career for himself in Jolt, he just needs to make the right impressions on myself and other scouts to earn a recommendation. He’s been wrestling for seven years and has enough experience to last in Jolt. Adam Lazarus has been impressive as of late and is starting to move his name closer to receiving a shot at Avispa Ultima’s Flyweight Championship.
Match Notes:
This was a very high paced match, the masked American Thunder was able to show a lot more of his skillset than the reports of he against Keller. Laz controlled just a bit over half of the match, but Thunder hitting the Only in America, Satellite Headscissors Facebreaker got the crowd rolling. Thunder followed it up with the American Elbow, Springboard Elbow Drop to get a 2.3 count.
The two exchanged the advantage over the next few minutes until Laz was able to hit Thunder with A World of Hurt and grab the hard earned victory.
Thunder Evaluation:
Showed he has a lot of skill and the ability to put it together, if he can grab a victory on his trial run, I will probably give him a recommendation.
Winner: Adam Lazarus via A World of Hurt (11:02)
Daryn Thompson v. “Hot” Julia Turner
Pre Match Notes:
Daryn Thompson has looked in form lately and I expect for her to continue to only get better, Julia Turner..I don’t really know anything of. I guess this is her opportunity to impress me.
Match Notes:
Julia began the match showing that she had some technical skill for someone who couldn’t be older than 21, she was able to work over Daryn for a few minutes until she was able to power to her feet and take Julia down with a Side Slam.
Daryn would then control Julia and earn a few near falls. Julia would again show some resolve and impressive offense, but she then took a huge Jumping Knee from Daryn which took her down. It was followed up with a Reverse Piledriver for the victory.
Winner: Daryn Thompson via Reverse Piledriver (8:59)
“Superstar” Vince Jacobs© v. “Amazing” AC Johnson
Pre Match Notes:
The Legacy Champion goes into this non-title match with a lot on his mind, facing AC Johnson isn’t an easy task as he has been a regular in Japan over the past five years and has wrestled across the US and Georgia being one of the top talents many in the US haven’t heard of. Stands at 6’1’’ 217, he has a lot of talent and could easily earn an upset in this match.
Match Notes:
AC started the match off hot using his technical ability to work over Jacobs right arm, he eventually sped up the pace and used some Arm Drags and Dropkicks to frustrate Jacobs who rolled out of the ring to collect himself. That turned out to not work as Johnson used a Springboard Plancha to dive into Jacobs just when he thought he was safe.
Johnson quickly rolled Jacobs back into the ring and gained a 1.9 count. Again Johnson worked over the Legacy Champions arm on the mat until he fought to his feet, AC cut him off and ran off the ropes. Jacobs drilled his A Star is Born Spinning Spinebuster that drew groans from the crowd on impact.
Jacobs collected himself before drilling half a dozen fists into AC’s forehead. Jacobs then pulled AC to his feet and hit an Exploder and gained a 2.3 count on the international star. Jacobs played to the crowd before hitting a Russian Legsweep and getting a two count after a lateral press.
Jacobs had the pace to a stand still when AC drilled an Enziguri that put Jacobs on his face. AC went to the top rope and hit a Spinning Elbow on the standing Jacobs. He hooked his leg and gained a 2.4. AC went for the Path To Amazement, but Jacobs Back Body Dropped out of it..
AC stood up and turned right into a Superstar Kick that dropped him hard. Jacobs hooked the far leg and gained the three count, over a wrestler who could easily have a place on the Jolt roster.
Winner: “Superstar” Vince Jacobs via Superstar Kick (14:09)
