Guest: Chris Titan
The camera opened up to a large broadcast table adorned with jOlt logos. Behind the table was a large green-screened wall, now turned black with the Dawncast logo swirling around. Front and center at the table sat Dawn Cassidy.
“My guest here on the Dawncast is a former Tag Team and jOlt Champion, a jOlt original, former member of Fueled by Ignorance, former member of Fueled by VIAGRA, former leader of the Backbone, and one of the most controversial figures in jOlt history … Chris Titan.”
Chris Titan was amused by the introduction.
“Chris,” Dawn wasted no time jumping right into it, “I think I speak for everyone watching this program when I say we’re all incredibly sorry over the recent releases of your fellow Backbone members.”
“Thank you.”
“If I can play devil’s advocate here for just a moment, though,” Dawn asked with conviction, “why you? Why is it Chris Titan’s responsibility to rid jOlt of Damien Lee and The Rebellion? When you hear how I’ve described you, haven’t you proven enough?”
“No. I haven’t. It’s not my responsibility to rid jOlt of Lee or The Rebellion. I can tell you right now if it wasn’t the Rebellion, if it was someone else in their place or some other group putting up a barrier between myself and Lee … it doesn’t matter. I’m going through anyone or anything without hesitation.
“Damien Lee has lost sight of things. He came in here twelve years ago and inherited this company, and it went out of business. Whatever, it happens, but you don’t come back in here and act as though you rule this place with an iron fist. It seems as though Jim Johnson wore off on Lee a little bit and he’s done some things that I should probably put him in the morgue for, and not a hospital, but if I go to jail I don’t get to continue to put that man in a hospital over and over again until my contract comes up. I won’t get fired. If I do, I won’t leave. But he won’t fire because people talk about me and that increases ratings, that sells tickets.”
Dawn nodded. “You certainly do have people talking and what they’re talking about is your self professed goal for Thieves Honor. Let me see if I’ve got this right, you don’t want to win the jOlt World Heavyweight Championship?”
“You know,” Titan said with a sigh, “I’ve given that some more thought … and it’s still just an added bonus. It’s not that I don’t want to win it, but I don’t need to … at least right now. I just want to beat the everloving shit out of Sebastian Saje and make that son of a bitch watch as his hopes of becoming jOlt Heavyweight Champion fade away. That’s what I want.”
The screen behind Dawn lit up showing Jon Le Bon and Dawn posed the following, “Chris, let’s talk a bit about your other opponents in Thieves Honor and how you feel they all line up going into such a unique match. First up is the surprise winner of the battle royal for the last remaining spot in Thieves Honor, Jon Le Bon.”
“Who?,” Titan asked with a chuckle. “Le Bon makes me laugh but the rookie is in way over his head.”
“Next up is Mack Brody of the Heirs of Wrestling.”
“Guy’s a brick shithouse. You want my tips on how to beat him? With a pipe while he’s sleeping.”
“How about the ever-enigmatic ring veteran, Ninja K?”
“At this point we’re all well aware that this man is legitimately a ninja, correct? He is a tough, tough competitor in there but he is beatable. The question is can you take advantage of that one opportunity he may present in that ring because you’re only getting one.”
“We already know your feelings on Sebastian Saje.”
“Hate him.”
“Heh … let’s close this show out with your thoughts on the current jOlt World Heavyweight Champion, Landon Stevens.”
“I guess my beating the shit out of Sebastian Saje for the entire match makes things a little easier for him but this match is not for the champion. This match, and any other match like this, is for the fans. The champion is in the worst position here and Landon’s little buddies aren’t going to be able to pull his ass out of the fire this time. My prediction? The Stevens reign is over.”
“What about the Titan reign?”
“Never ended. I may not have the belt, I may not have it after Thieves Honor, but if you think I can’t go out there and beat the hell out of every single guy on this roster … just watch. Thieves Honor is just the beginning but I can give you a little spoiler right now, the end is near.”
