Wishes Do Come True

The scene opened on the silence and stillness of the empty Arena of Champions. No fans cheering wildly and holding up their signs. No lights cascading down from the jOltvision screen. No thuds of bodies crashing to the mat in the ring.

All of the arena's seats were unoccupied - save for one. In the upper level only three rows from the top, a single figure leaned back in one of the seats, both his arms laying on the arm rests at his sides. The black hooded cloak was a dead giveaway.

Providence.

Looking down from this vantage point, he could see virtually the entire arena. He visualized the thousands of fans in their seats, blowing the roof off the place. He visualized walking down the aisle and stepping inside the special structure known as "The Pitt." He visualized the vicious battle between himself and Kenshiro Inogami.

But most of all, Providence visualized his victory...his redemption...his salvation...his DESTINY.

The war with the Inogami Clan and the match with Ninja K had been planned all along, but after his previous setbacks, their importance for Providence became even greater than he had expected. That didn't change his mission at all - just how much satisfaction he would get from completing it.

And so it seemed to bear a great importance for Ninja K as well, as he had chosen The Pitt match as a way of carrying out some kind of judgment on Providence and his past in The Asylum. But while Kenshiro may have been exposed to some of the Asylum's violence first-hand during their promotional war with 21 Wrestling, he only had a taste of it.

Meanwhile, Providence had lived it day in and day out. He had bled and battled against some of the worst of the worst, some of the most violent human beings on the planet. Not only had he battled, but he was a champion, carrying their TV Championship for months on end.

Eddie Cheno. Token Weed. Nerva. LLB. Steve Christ. Hans Kruger. Carnage. Rave Caprini.

The list of fighters to fall at Providence's hands was lengthy and distinguished. It created a legacy for him, one that Kenshiro was seeking to extinguish. Little did he know that Providence had his eyes on extinguishing legacies as well. Legacies that could stand in the way of his destiny and all the plans that had been put together.

"Soon...soon everyone will know what they are truly up against. When that day comes, my destiny will be here...and the heavens will fall."

In the meantime, Providence was focused on the task at hand and the beginning of all his wishes coming true.
